Partnership With Rural Schools
Child-wise Follow-up
NCT provides age-appropriate education to rescued child labourers/ school dropout children at NCT’s bridge-school centres. After their completion of the bridge courses, children are mainstreamed in public schools for regular academic studies. NCT’s child-wise follow-up programme ensures children who are mainstreamed in regular public schools complete their education every year. To create awareness among students and teachers on child rights and child-friendly teaching, NCT regularly conducts seminars and workshops at public schools. NewBeginnings involves in
- Carrying out regular campaigns to raise awareness, especially among girls, of the importance of education and the threats of child abuse (e.g child marriage, child labor, sexual abuse)
- Creating ‘Children’s Vigilante Groups’, encouraging children to be watchful of child abuse and report incidents to their teachers.
FORMATION OF CHILDREN’S VIGILANT GROUPS (CVGs)
The purpose of forming Children Vigilant Groups (CVGs) in each government school is to prevent and report any school dropouts, child marriages, and trafficking in the villages that the children come from. Every child plays the role of the ‘hawk eye’ in their communities. Each CVG is headed and guided by the head teacher at the school to whom children report when a child becomes a victim of school dropouts or child marriage or trafficking for immediate rescue and rehabilitation of the child
